Nellie Durand, master quilter and fiber artist, writes:
"I've been sewing with machines for over 50 years and never knew how the stitches were made. This website has an animated illustration of how the upper and bobbin threads interlock (scroll half way down). Amazing! Now I know how all those little parts I'm so familiar with actually function. Yeah!"

I'm well into my 60's and really am amazed. Both by how seemingly simply the sewing machine makes stitches and by the young man who created the website. I've emailed the site to all my sewing friends and family members. That includes a physicist , several young men who create websites (including Peter), and my three 6 year old grandsons who are close to getting to actually sew on my machines.
